CDMA operator Tata Teleservices is all set to flood the entry level mobile telephony market with an array of handsets in the sub Rs 2,000 range. What’s more is that the phones would come with a colour screen and FM Radio. In addition, a host of Value Added Services (VAS) such as ringtones, wallpapers and games would come insta! lled into the phone.
Tata Tele’s plan to become aggressive is understandable. Of the 156 million mobile telephony market in India, Tata Tele with a user base of 15.5 million ranks fifth among all cellular operators, having a small market share of nine percent.
