Coca Cola has launched Sprite Yard, a new mobile community around its brand.
Launched first in China last week, Coca Cola is hoping to spread its mobile community quickly on a global scale. Coca Cola is hoping to also spread across different soda brands within its company as well. On the mobile site, users will be able to create profiles and redeem codes from their soda bottle caps for prizes such as clothing, gear, ring tones, video clips and virtual items and accessories for virtual worlds such as Second Life.
Coca Cola was an early brand to adopt the concept and marketing potential of Second Life, and is clearly looking for more ways to extend its branded reach. Coca Cola has decided to go strictly with a mobile community for Sprite Yard, hoping to connect with teenagers on the device that is with them at all times.

this is a very interesting attempt by coca cola. till now no social networking on a mobile portal was available.people have been doin social networking on the web since long and its presence on mobile was really sought after.
i hope its going to very user friendly….and its presence on WAP will prove to be lucrative for both Cocacola and its tie ups for this venture…..
