VAS Revenue for Idea Cellular was at 8.9 percent of ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). While this is up on percentage terms, the ARPU itself has declined. As per the performance numbers disclosed by Idea Cellular, revenue from VAS for the company has increased in absolute terms to Rs. 67.28 crores for the quarter ending June 30th 2007, from around Rs. 43.34 crores for the same quarter last year, and Rs. 56.48 crores last quarter.

Yahoo has signed up with Idea Cellular (India) and Maxis Communications ( Malaysia) to sell mobile ads across their networks. These operators plan to carry a variety of graphical ads sold and served by Yahoo.
It has also signed MTNL as its Yahoo onesearch mobile partner. Localized versions of Yahoo! Go 3.0 for India, Australia and Southeast Asia, including a local language version for Indonesia, and an English version of Yahoo oneSearch with voice that recognizes regional accents have been launched. Apart from these Yahoo has also announced the launch of new mobile widgets for the Asia Pacific region including Yahoo Cricket, Yahoo! Answers and Showtimes (Yahoo India Movies), as well as a MTV Asia mobile widget featuring news updates and music charts.
